Robert Gotengco

Robert "Bob" Gotengco graduated from Gladstone Secondary School. He enjoyed learning about many of the many fine arts that were available, including drawing, ballroom dancing, singing, but especially acting.

Bob began acting in Grade 9, when he decided to join the school’s theater company.  He was a returning member and loved being in the spotlight.  During his junior year, he took to the art of improvisation and later on became a member of the school’s improv team.

Being a member of the CASt Youth Mentorship program was a real eye opener. The training helped him gain confidence as a performer and as a person.

To Brenda, Delores, and Sean, Thank you for all you have shared with me.

Bob is currently self-represented.

Heather has always been interested in the arts. At a young age she sampled gymnastics, painting, clay sculpting, piano and the drums. But nothing quenched her thirst until she was in high school, where she plunged into acting. Ever since then, Heather has played a major role at the Britannia Secondary Theatre department by participating in productions such as Little Sister, Hamlet and The Breakfast Club. Heather's efforts were rewarded by receiving the outstanding achievement award in senior theatre in both Grades 10 and 11.

Becoming one of the "sensational six" with the CASt mentorship program opened a world she only heard about. She was able to experience the TV and film industry from the inside out and improve her on camera techniques. But the CASt mentorship gave her more than just insight and experience: Heather also found unlimited amounts of guidance, support and friendship.

Thanks to the mentors Brenda Crichlow and Sean Campbell, who were more than just teachers; they  helped stoke Heather’s desire for the theatre and the film and television industry.

Elena Peradenic

Elena Peradenic was born on October 3, 1987 in Vancouver. The youngest in a family of six, Elena looked up to her older siblings. Following her sister Amy's path, Elena attended drama class at H.J. Cambie Secondary and from there realized her true joy for acting. She continued taking acting through to Grade 12 and was part of the school's senior improv team. With her enthusiasm for acting continually building, Elena jumped at the chance to train with CASt.

In the fall of 2004, she was ecstatic to learn she was accepted to the highly acclaimed CASt Youth Mentorship Program. The program gave her a great insight to the world of television and film. For two terms she was taught all the tips of the trade and how to use them to develop her future as an actor.

Learning from three different mentors, including Brenda Crichlow, Elena had all the information needed to move towards her dream career and is very thankful for that opportunity. "The right teachers can make all the difference. My mentors from CASt  have definitely helped me become more comfortable in front of the camera, and I won't ever forget the great experience they allowed me to have," Elena says.

Elena is currently represented by Blink Management.

Kascha was introduced to acting at the age of twelve by a very eccentric friend and has loved it ever since.  She is involved in every acting program offered at her high school, Cambie Secondary, where she has just finished the Grade 10.  Along with acting, Kascha plans to continue also with the musical theatre course, as well as directing and script development.

To Kascha, acting professionally isn't really a dream anymore, it is a goal.  She is involved in a performance titled e-race through Miscellaneous Productions, performing at the Gateway Theatre in Richmond in September, 2005. This, along with being chosen as one of the "Sensational Six" mentorship recipients, has been the most rewarding experiences. Kascha can't wait for more experiences in both theatre and film and television.

Kascha would like to thank Brenda Crichlow for giving her and everyone involved in the mentorship program this amazing opportunity, as well as Sean Campbell and Dolores Drake.  They are all talented teachers and wonderful people.

Kascha is currently self-represented.

Greg Tsai

It's hard to believe that Greg Tsai began acting as a casual interest. He never thought he would get such a close glimpse at the film industry. Big thanks to the wonderful and warm-hearted instructors at CASt. They made Greg's experience a colourful chapter of his life. He will be forever thankful for all the things he learned in that studio. Greg made many friends at CASt, and the good times shared will always be with him.

Greg is interested in many things, such as working with kids and going out for a long jog in the rain. Greg is always willing to experience new things and never misses an opportunity to learn the lessons that will make him a better actor. He would like to thank Brenda Crichlow (one heck of a woman), for mentoring young actors to find their true passion. Whether Greg chooses to continue down this path or not, he already has the vast knowledge and experience to begin his career because of the many things the CASt program has taught.

To Sean Campbell, Brenda Crichlow and Delores Drake, a thousand thanks wouldn't be enough!

Remy Siu was born on August 10th, 1990 in New Westminster, B.C. He attends New Westminster Secondary School as a Grade 10 student.

In addition to acting, Remy has a black belt in Goju-Ru Karate, a Grade 7 RCM certificate in piano, and plays hockey for the New Westminster Royals. He has won several Grand Championships in national and international karate tournaments. He has also won several awards in piano competitions.

After several years aspiring to be a computer engineer, Remy found what he wanted to do for the rest of his life: storytelling.  Remy is an aspiring writer, film director, and actor.  He has written a novel and is seeking a literary agent in his journey for publication.

Remy began studying drama in 2004, the same year he was chosen as one of the six finalists to participate in CASt's Youth Mentorship Program.  The program has allowed him to identify his strengths and to build on them.  Remy hopes to achieve more acting and voice-over experience.  He looks forward to participating with the next group of finalists.

Janelle Dodds

Janelle is 11 years old and loves to act. She keeps herself busy with piano, tap dancing, Delta District Children’s Choir, and, of course, many auditions.

Janelle started doing as an extra for TV and movies, but began auditioning for commercials as she gained experience. For Janelle, acting has helped develop many skills, but confidence as well. Her family and teachers have watched her grow from a shy girl to one filled with confidence, while maintaining her sensitivity to others.

When Janelle was notified that she was the next recipient of the Gloria Crichlow Memorial Scholarship, she was ecstatic! She could train more with Brenda and her “crew”, who are fabulous. Janelle knows this will help her finetune her existing skills and bring out new ones as well.

“Thank you so much Brenda, this means sooo much to me!”

Terry-Dayne is 10 years old and likes acting, cars and some sports. Terry-Dayne knew he loved acting at the age of 5 when he performed “Chicken Little” on stage. T-D has been very busy with auditions over the last couple of years and found work on Dead Like Me, True Calling and The Dead Zone. He believes attending classes and private coaching at CASt has helped him improve his acting skills. Brenda’s support and techniques have given him confidence. He always remembers his “actor energy” when auditioning.

Winning the Gloria Crichlow Memorial Scholarship has been a great boost to T-D. As a person with dyslexia, it shows that a learning difference is not a disability of life, but a gift.

Thank you to Brenda, Dolores, and Sean for all their help with my craft!

Terry-Dayne is represented by Liz Coughlin at King Talent.
