    Introduction to Acting

This course is designed for those who have little or no acting experience, but are curious and keen. Classes are for kids 9-12* years, teens 13-16 years, and adults. Introduction to Acting provides the most comfortable environment possible to introduce the newcomer to the world of acting. The course introduces students to the technical skills necessary for auditioning confidently, consistently, and, most importantly, successfully. Along with initiating the mental process of becoming comfortable in front of a rolling camera, the course offers instruction on:
  • Proper slating technique
  • Cold reading practice and delivery
  • Monologue and scene study
  • Professional presentation
  • Improvisational exercises

By course end, students will have a terrific understanding of what is needed from them professionally and technically.

* Younger children ages 5-7 years may be enrolled on a private basis.

    Intermediate Acting

The Intermediate Acting program offers students an in-depth study of script breakdown and analysis, monologue and scene work, character development, and improvisation. Students will focus their energies on "committing to the moment" and "goal attainment," and will learn the importance of "raising the stakes" as it applies to being the most honest and convincing actor you can be. Passion, attention to detail, consistency, and commitment not only to the scene, but also to the class, are essential.
